Imagine that you are an individual interested in making a million investment in one of the alternative energy technologies (geothermal, hydroelectric, tidal, solar, biomass, wind, or nuclear). In order for your major investment to have a good return, you have decided to persuade others to also invest in the alternative energy technology that you choose. Specifically, you figure that if you write a letter to the President of the United States to persuade him to put money into the development of your technology, you will eventually have huge profits. Your task for this assessment is as follows:
Write a letter to the President of the United States (No, you don’t have to actually mail it, just turn it in to me.) In your letter:
1)Describe the alternative energy
2)Explain the uses of the energy
3)Identify where in the United States it would be best to develop this energy source, or where it already exists, depending on which energy you choose
4)Discuss the pros of your energy
5)Explain the cons of other alternative energies (Why is yours better?)
6)Site the sources of where you found your information (The President won’t listen if he thinks you just made it up!)
Please make sure your letter is in proper “letter form” with salutations and paragraphs. Be as persuasive as you can to increase your chances of the President agreeing to develop your energy and make you lots of money!
